How Preregistration Works

Register to Vote! logo Preregistration is an election process that allows individuals younger than 18 years of age to register to vote, so they are eligible to cast a ballot when they reach eighteen, the voting age for all country and federal elections. Typically, a pre-registrant will make full out an application and be added to the voter registration list with a "pending" or "preregistration" condition. State Voter Registration Ages

Legislative Considerations

Turnout. The argument for implementing preregistration policies has to do with increasing youth turnout.
